Have you already established a startup that focuses on creating an innovative business idea and bringing about change in the healthcare industry? Do you and your founding team have a vision for the healthcare market of the future?

During the “MedTech Radar Live 2019” event the 10 best, small start-up companies will get the opportunity to present their business ideas in the pitch session of the conference. The audience covers a broad spectrum of the medical technology industry and statutory health insurancy representatives as well as investors and other sector stakeholders to which the presenters can establish valuable contacts. At the same time, the 10 selected start-up teams have the opportunity to present their company in the accompanying exhibition at their own booth within the "Start-up Lounge" free of charge. The “Start-up Lounge” will be complemented with another 10 start-up companies chosen among the applications that will also receive this offer and present onsite at their own booth.

The statutory health insurancy Barmer, the German Medical Technology Association (BVMed), the venture capital investors High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), Earlybird Venture Capital and NRW.Bank as well as the medical technology magazine “Medtech Zwo” from publishing house BIOCOM AG co-organize the conference and are part of the jury.

Specifically, the initiative addresses start-ups or smaller companies looking to change the healthcare industry and improve patient care with an innovative business idea. The focus is on the areas of digital health services, rehabilitation, patient care or big data with medical technologies. Interested start-ups send a meaningful application (pitchdeck as presentation) including the following information:

  • State of science and technology – what is the technology?
  • Founding team
  • Market Volume
  • Targeted group(s)
  • Application area(s)
  • Is there an economic benefit? Are there savings for special service providers expected?
  • Who are the top (3-5) competitors and how do you differentiate from them?
  • Which milestones do you want to reach within the next 3 years? (Road Map)
  • Financing status
